IT Systems Architect/Engineer The ideal candidate is a very experienced IT systems engineer that has proven ability to both architect and implement mission-critical infrastructure systems. The primary objective of this position is to ensure that the IT infrastructure meets the needs of the business systems, ensuring proper configuration, availability, performance, security and continuity. This person will be a valued team member and will communicate, collaborate and build consensus on solutions. This position reports to the IT Manager responsible for global infrastructure. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Ensure that all solutions will have core principles such as: o High Performance, Available & Secured Systems o Documented Configuration with full dependency understanding. o Define, measure, report and meet the required OLA(s), SLA(s), RTO, and RPO requirements. • Spend 50% time architecting system solutions, 50% implementing/training – must deliver on prioritized projects/tasks. • Work with IT Management & development teams to create strategic foundations to build global infrastructure. • Sets direction and “best practice” standards from an enterprise perspective; and drive technology architecture throughout the company • Position’s deliverables o Project Proposals & Presentations o Systems, Storage & Network diagrams – create/maintain o Documentation in Word, Excel, etc. o Configuration Management DB (CMDB) o Network, storage, servers & systems changes • Work within Change Management policies to ensure system stability. • Effectively contribute as an individual but exhibit leadership with cross-functional teams. • Collaborate with business leaders across the company and external partners. • Maintain knowledge of IT industry, awareness of applicable emerging technologies. Education and Experience Required: • Bachelors degree in computer related field, Master’s degree preferred. •15 years progressive experience in information technology positions (specifically systems engineer and/or systems architect) • Have proven experience with 100+ server environment with high availability, performance and security requirements in multiple data centers. Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: • Excellent communication to articulate advanced technical topics both written and verbally. • Attention to details and ensuring correct process execution. • Strong leadership skills to lead by influence and collaboration. • Ability to analyze and craft solutions and get unified buy-in from team. • Windows OS (XP, Server 2003/2008) • Networking using Cisco products • SAN storage • Microsoft Exchange 2003/2007, SQL 2005/2008, Active Directory, IIS • Diagramming Skills using Visio Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: • Programming (Powershell, C#.NET) • Inmage Replication • Hitachi, Nexsan & Left-Hand SAN storage • HP Blade Server Systems • Additional operations systems (Redhat Linux, Windows 7) • Security, Cisco & Microsoft Certifications *Signed NDA required to interview in person.
