Uline seeks a 3rd Shift IT Systems Engineer at its Corporate Headquarters in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin (north of Chicago). Position will be located at our Data Center in Waukegan, IL for the first year.

HOURS: Monday - Friday, 11 PM to 8 AM

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage server operating systems / software / hardware and related applications / systems.
• Perform 2nd / 3rd Level Troubleshooting of IT systems.
• Maintain Enterprise Backup Solutions, including daily backup operations.
• Implement permanent fixes and enhancements to systems as provided by vendors.
• Install / rebuild servers plus configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories and storage in accordance with Uline standards.
• Maintain documentation of existing systems.
• Research and recommend ways to innovate or automate system administration tasks.
• Write, test and deploy Windows, Macintosh and Linux scripts on workstations and servers.
• Push out large scale hardware / software upgrades and fixes.
• Provide reports on system metrics.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field.
• 4+ years experience with Wintel, storage and backup systems – pSeries, iSeries or Linux a plus.
• Microsoft Windows expertise.
• Adept in networking, Ethernet, TCP / IP and remote communications.
• Proven ability to quickly learn and support new systems.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.
• Comfortable in a high-availability / fast-paced environment.
• Strong customer service and experience with end users.
