Our West Michigan client is seeking a full-time/permanent/direct hire Unified Communications Sales Engineer
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The UC Sales Engineer position supports the Sales organization to deliver in-depth technical support in the sales cycle. This position is tasked with delivering hardware and software functional specifications pertaining to design. Develop scope objectives based on customer expectations and requirements ultimately delivering a full UC design solution meeting customer expectations and requirements.
The qualified candidate will accompany the Sales Account Representative in sales initiatives from the executive level down. The candidate will be able to provide solution selling by discussing features, functionality, and requirements and ultimately design through white-boarding, written and oral communications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support all Sales Account Executives through all levels of the sales cycle
- Act as a trusted advisor and technical consultant for Polycom, Microsoft Lync, Avaya and future UC technologies
- Maintain industry expert level design knowledge on key products
- Act as a technical consultant for solution quoting, Business Cases, Statements of Work, RFIs/RFQs and RFPs
- Conduct discovery meetings to obtain customer functional design specifications
- Perform technical presentations and demonstrations to customers and target accounts
- Develop accurate UC solutions and designs
- Deliver complex product demonstrations
Technical Requirements
- Microsoft Server 2000/2003/2008 skills
- General working knowledge of operating Systems and features
- Active Directory design requirements (forest/domain functionality)
- Internal/External DNS
- Exchange 2007/2010skills
- General working knowledge of Exchange and Outlook client
- Unified Messaging
- Interoperability / requirements with outside world
- Ability to read, interpret and provide feedback from an existing network diagram
- OCS / Lync experience
- Experience in traditional telephony environments (TDM), IP Networking (voice, video and data)
- Experience in SIP technologies relating to voice, IM and video
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Maintain design/expert level certifications in all primary and secondary disciplines.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
