Senior Java Lead Designer Architect

PCR is currently seeking an experienced software application and/or web application architect with an extensive Java background for a permanent, direct-hire role with one of our Charlotte, NC based clients.   Potential candidates should have 8+ years object oriented programming experience in a Java environment with at least 3 years of design and application architecture experience.  Candidates with proven technical team leadership experience would be ideal. 

This role will be responsible for working with the business unit to determine requirement used in the designing, building, testing and implementing of application solutions for internal and end-clients.  The Senior Java Architect must have the ability and skill to perform in a “small shop” environment; maximizing both innovation and resources to meet and exceed client expectations.  Candidate must have the ability to offer flexible development solutions, on-time/on-budget projects and customer focused results.

Potential candidates must have immediate US work authorization.  Bachelor's degree or higher is preferred but not required.

Requirements for consideration:

• 8+ Years Object Oriented Programming experience
  
• 8+ Years Java development with core Java experience
  
• J2EE and JEE is a plus
  
• 3+ Years software or web-based application architecture experience
  
• Project Management experience is a plus
  
• Previous team lead experience in managing/mentoring other developers is ideal
  
• Relational database experience, remote procedure calls, and agnostic database environments are a plus.  Current databases include SQL, Oracle, Tomcat, and Dbase.
  
• Experience is a test driven environment is mandatory
  
• Experience with JUnit and Eggplant will be given preference over other candidates
  
• In addition, any experience with Liferay portal development is preferred
  
• Rational Tools, class diagrams and automated testing
