We are looking for a Desktop Technician who will support a prestigious civilian government organization.
Responsibilities / Duties
- Provide computer services for the customer's desktop, laptop and peripheral devices.
- Use sound technical abilities and proven methodologies to produce superior desktop service results.
- Perform all installs, moves, adds and changes required for desktop support; repair computer, printer and peripheral, including diagnosis of system malfunctions; upgrade omputer hardware, including memory, hard drives, CD-ROM drives, DVD drives,
monitors, motherboards, processors, video cards, sound cards, network cards and other special purpose cards.
- Support end users in the resolution of day-to-day problems that occur when using their computer hardware or software.
- Install software or software upgrades, including Windows Operating Systems, system or device drivers, Microsoft Office, Web browsers, e-mail, anti-virus, accounting, customer contact and most other general-purpose PC software packages.
- Design and implement desktop standards, provide desktop migration, deployment and installation services, integrate support from multiple manufacturers and integrate and test desktop hardware and software.
Skills
Required
- Clearly communicate both written and orally, and present products and ideas in a business-like manner.
- Strong interpersonal skills due to continual interaction with clients, managers, and users with varying technical backgrounds in a fast paced work environment.
Experience
Preferred
- Experience with Windows 2000/2003 Servers a plus.
Required
-LAN/WAN experience.
-3-5 years of desktop support.
-2 or more years of experience using Ghost imaging software.
Education
Required
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field. Sufficient related experience could be a substitute.
Qualifications
Preferred
- Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA).
Details
This is a full time non exempt position.
Candidate will be subject to a full field investigation and must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate access credentials for customer locations.
