Imaging Center Relationship Manager

About the Job

Job Summary: Under the direction of the Imaging Center Manager, the primary responsibility of the Imaging Center Relationship Manager will be to market the medical imaging technology and services provided at the center and develop strong relationships with the local physicians who refer patients by managing and directly participating in the following functions:

 

  • Marketing Strategy Development and Implementation
  • Consumer Direct Marketing and Relationship Management
  • Marketing Intelligence Gathering
  • Marketing Material Development and Maintenance

 

Education, Experience and Training

  • A minimum of 2 years marketing experience preferred
  • A good understanding of medical terminology and the ability to convey advanced healthcare concepts is essential
  • Bachelors Degree preferred

 

Other Qualifications

  • Visual, auditory and phonetic acuity required.
  • Should be able to work independently and make intelligent decisions based on the information at hand. 
  • Must be articulate in oral and written expression and be able to interact with patients, their families, physicians and other employees in a professional manner. 
  • Must be able to travel extensively throughout Columbia and surrounding areas.

Work Schedule


Works 8 hours per day.  The work schedule varies according to the needs of the Imaging Center.  This is a salaried position. 

 

Physical and Working Conditions

 

  • Requires the ability to mobilize throughout the imaging center.
  • Requires lifting boxes of forms, film and other supplies weighing 35 pounds to fill computer printers, imagers, laser cameras, processors, and copy machines.
  • Vision demands-near and far vision, visual accommodation, color vision, field of vision and depth perception
  • Constant hearing and/or talking is involved as well as frequent use of the telephone.
  • Must be able to use good judgment in making decisions.
  • Must be able to handle stress and perform several tasks simultaneously.

Essential Function

Standard

1.      Marketing strategy development and implementation

a)      Assist the Marketing Department with the development of the marketing strategy for the imaging center.

b)      Communicate marketing plans and tactics with imaging center employees and employees of other related entities as appropriate under the direction of the manager.

c)      Provide suggestions regarding market driven adjustments and modifications to the marketing plans.

d)     Support marketing plan tactics by attending and/or speaking at health related activities throughout the community.

e)      Develop and carry out routine physician office visit rotation schedule.

f)       Participate in annual marketing budget preparation.

g)      Prepare and submit quarterly budget-to-actual marketing expense reports.

h)      Develop prospects for new revenue generation opportunities. Develop proposals, conduct due diligence feasibility studies, present and assist in negotiations with customers.

2. Consumer direct marketing and relationship management

a)      Conduct daily physician office visits according to schedule in order to convey to local referring physicians that the center can provide them with superior technology at the same or lower costs to patients as other imaging service providers in the area and that the center will provide the most advanced technology, typically available only at large in-patient research hospitals.

b)      Follow up on all marketing/sales leads as quickly as possible. Make new calls on potential customers to stimulate interest in the centers services.

c)      Participate in and/or organize physician office staff lunches and educational seminars for local physicians to inform referrers and their personnel of the capabilities and services available.

d)     Respond to customer and patient complaints and make recommendations to management regarding good-will building.

e)      Provide information on diagnostic imaging services and demonstrate to customers the benefits derived from utilizing these services. Keep referrers and prospects updated as to new services and capabilities.

f)       Establish and maintain close relationships between the facility and referring clinicians, hospital customers, managed care organizations, and third party payers.

g)      Communicate with the imaging center manager on a daily basis regarding events in the field.   

3. Marketing intelligence gathering

a)      Develop database profiles for referral base marketing.

b)      Conduct market research relative to new business opportunities.

c)      Conduct market intelligence gathering by advising management of information gathered as a result of observations made in the field. Report information regarding new services, activities of competitors, upgrades in capabilities and referrer’s needs, etc.

d)     Prepare a variety of reports and correspondence including data reports on activities, expenses, referrer’s satisfaction, quality issues, and market needs.

e)      Maintain complete and up to date records regarding customer and referrers use of the facility.

4. Marketing material development and maintenance

a)      Assist with the design, development, and procurement of marketing materials.

b)      Assist with media buys, advertising and publicity, including copywriting, design, and placement.

c)      Coordinate collateral development, including copywriting, print production, and distribution

d)     Ensure physician offices are adequately supplied with collateral material.

5. Perform any reasonable task as required to meet the needs of the imaging center

a)      Under the direction of the Imaging Center Manager, perform additional duties as assigned.
