Job Description
 
The Pre-Sales Consultant is a "front line" point of contact for our customers contemplating the purchase of HP products and solutions through web chat. Responsibility includes driving preference for HP through technology education, solution selling and building brand loyalty. Act as a trusted advisor to customers, recommending the best solution for their needs and move customers further along in the purchase process (sales or leads) while providing an excellent customer experience. 
  • Promote HP brand by inspiring and educating customers regarding HP products and solutions, with a goal of moving the customer along in the purchase cycle. 

  • Qualify customers on their printing or computing environment, and recommend appropriate solutions to meet their needs. 

  • Make cross/up-sell recommendations, driving solutions and base product sale.

  • Maintain channel neutral sales approach. 

  • Close business for customers who want to buy direct now.

  • Utilize Siebel to create and track opportunities as appropriate.

  • Converting customer chats into sales or leads and maximizing order size through cross-selling and up-selling techniques.

  • Maintaining awareness of market conditions, competitor products and pricing while using this knowledge to position hp products in a favorable manner.

  • Attending training sessions and proactively maintaining in-depth knowledge of hp products.

 





 
Your Profile
 
Two or Four year degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience with 1+ years of experience with technical knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
  • Printing and Imaging

  • Servers and Storage

  • Mobility

  • Wireless

  • Networking

  • Personal Computing

Skills Include:
  • Outstanding spoken and written communication skills; Fluent in English language

  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team

  • Strong sales and negotiation skills

  • Resilience and resourcefulness when solving complex problems

  • Highly confident and professionally assertive individual that can instill confidence in customers

  • Ability to adapt and excel in a dynamic fast-paced work environment  

  • Familiar with HP printing and other computing products and solutions

  • Resilience and resourcefulness in solving complex problems

  • Enthusiasm for technology, drive to independently maximize knowledge

  • Ability to clearly communicate technical features/advantages/benefits to a range of customers

  • Excellent listening and customer service skills

  • Strong presentations skills with the ability to present proposals persuasively

  • Proven ability to multitask in a highly demanding environment

  • Type 40 wpm minimum
