Medical Imaging Technologist

 

The American College of Radiology is seeking an Imaging Technologist to quality control, organize, process, and track the receipt of both digital and film based medical images.  This person will participate in image review sessions and work closely with radiologists in assisting with the functions and use of software and equipment required to perform various image measurements and manipulations.  The ACR serves as headquarters for the American College of Radiology Imaging Network (www.ACRIN.org).  ACRIN is a national cancer study research group funded by the NCI that manages clinical trials of imaging technologies as they relate to cancer. 

 

Principal duties include:

 

·      Quality control, organizes, process, and track the receipt of both digital and film based medical images.

 

·      Participate in image review sessions with radiologists.

 

·      Assist with the functions and use of software and equipment required to perform various image measurements and manipulations. 

 

·      Assist Medical Physicists in the software validation process.

 

·      Schedule requires periodic weekend work. 

 

Qualified candidates will possess the following:

 

·      ARRT registered with advanced certification in MRI, CT experience a plus. Knowledge of advance MRI techniques such as DCE-MRI, Spectroscopy, Perfusion/Diffusion imaging preferred. 

 

·      4+ yrs of medical/healthcare experience required, preferably radiology.

 

·      Experience in imaging processing analysis software tools that assist the Radiologist in evaluating medical images.

 

·      Understanding of clinical trials and regulatory issues a plus.
