SunGard Availability Services is an operating group of SunGard Data Systems.
*Alternate Location: Philadelphia, PA*
* Develop and install cost effective, operationally supportable solutions that meet complex customer requirements and SLAs.
* Maintain deep technical knowledge of multiple technologies.
* Provide implementation support of SunGard's largest managed services customers, maintaining ownership and a deep technical knowledge.
* Provide clear technical documentation and written (ITIL & ISO9001) procedures to ensure other members of the SunGard delivery team can assist in monitoring, troubleshooting and changing complex customer environments.
* Responsible for direct customer communication, working closely with other central operations technical teams and customer service teams.
* Build and maintain relationships with key customer's technical staff members and with internal stakeholders from customer service and field operations.
* Provide documentation and training to subordinate engineers to support complex implementations.
* Have a familiarity environment resources being utilized by SunGard customers. Use this information to assist in resolving environment issues that arise during deployment of new services.
* Provide assistance/training and leadership to other engineers.
* Perform after-hours installation/deployments as needed.
Provide world-class customer support and technical expertise for SunGard customers.
* Provide direct operational support (during implementation phase)of SunGard's largest managed services customers, maintaining ownership and a deep technical knowledge.
* Maintain deep technical knowledge of multiple technologies within a customer's environment.
* Build and maintain relationships with key customer's technical staff members and with internal stakeholders from customer service and field operations.
* Provide technical assistance to all SunGard internal/external customers during environment outages.
* Provide assistance/training and leadership to other engineers.
* Perform after-hours support as needed.
Implement technical solutions for Sungard customers.
* Develop and install cost effective, operationally supportable solutions that meet complex customer requirements and SLAs.
* Responsible for direct customer communication, working closely with other central operations technical teams and customer service teams.
* Provide clear technical documentation and written ISO9001/ITIL procedures to ensure other members of the SunGard delivery team can assist in monitoring, troubleshooting and changing enterprise customer environments.
* Negotiate and meet agreed-upon project deadlines.
Training.
* Learn automated Sungard resource functions and terminology.
* Learn Sungard alert management platforms, functions, and terminology.
* Learn related SunGard product offerings.
* Maintain poficiency with the latest OS technologies.
* Provide assistance/training to other engineers.
Requirements:
* Must have a minimum 1 year TSM server and client engineering-level implementation, configuration and troubleshooting experience.
* Must have a minimum of 5 years of diverse storage environment experience - Experience with EMC Clariion, McData & Brocade.
* Strong customer service and communications skills (written and oral) are required.
* Must have detailed knowledge of RAID, SCSI, SAN, and NAS.
* Strong time management and organizational skill are required.
* Must have the ability to effectively work in a team environment, as well as independently.
* Must know basic IP security structures regarding disk and tape storage.
* Must have a minimum of 2 years of Systems management and administration with an in-depth understanding of operating systems, including Microsoft Windows, Solaris, Unix/Linux
* Extensive knowledge of data communication concepts and technologies is required.
* Strong storage problem isolation and resolutions skills required.
* Must have the ability to lead and direct vendors to assist them in their efforts.
* Strong interpersonal skills are a requirement.
* Adaptable and willing to learn new technologies.
* College degree preferred but will consider applicants with equivalent work-related experience with a minimum educational requirement of a H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred Education:
* Bachelor degree with technical coursework or equivalent experience
* Industry recognized certification in storage / backup technology(s)
