Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Imports Analyst position will assist the Imports Manager, reporting as an employee of the Sports Authority. The position will maintain, evaluate, and analyze, current Sports Authority business procedures. Additionally, the position will propose enhancements to current company operations and assist in implementation.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Oversees all movement of imported merchandise from origin and US ports.

•Interfaces with TSA business departments and promotes proper import practices.

•Maintains visibility reports for Logistics, Merchants, and DC’s.

•Generates a substantial number of ad hoc reports and analysis as needed to support the business.

•Monitors shipments, identifies issues, and offers shipping alternatives.

•Monitors and reports based on key performance indicators such as freight cost, transit times, and cubic consumption.

•Assists in container volume forecasting and steamship contract maintenance and review.

•Audits freight invoices and reports on open invoices.

•Sustains EDI communications with origin consolidators and identifies opportunities for improvement.

•Supports Finance on monthly reconciliation and exception investigation.

•Assists in the Customs Compliance process in conjunction with the Product Development Group.

•Assists Vendor Compliance in analysis of charge backs to import vendors.

•Supports DC’s and drayage partners in managing port congestion.


PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

•College degree in business or logistics with 2-3 years experience or high school graduate with 5-7 year in workforce.

•Previous work experience in logistics preferred, but not required.

•Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong background in MS Access (intermediate level or higher) and Excel (advanced level) required.

•Communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally with all levels. Respect and maintain professional consideration of colleagues.

•Ability to multi-task, think critically, and maintain a positive attitude in stressful situations.

•Work independently and meet deadlines.
