We are currently seeking an experienced lending professional to act as an Indirect Buyer at our administrative offices in La Crosse, WI. 

Indirect Buyer:
Serve as a liaison between the Indirect Finance Network and the credit union. Analyze credit applications for loans submitted by third party auto dealers or merchants. Gather necessary background information to make sound lending decisions based on the applicants’ credit profile and underwrite loans in accordance with department goals and standards.  Communicate with Finance Managers to negotiate finance terms and secure loan contracts.  Will support MCU’s underwriting program in accordance with goals and standards for the department and credit union. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze all credit applications and decisions
Communicate with dealership to secure the deal
Negotiate loan contracts and maintain dealership relationships 
Process approved loans
Underwrite all loan applications in accordance with MCU’s guidelines
Build and enhance relationships with existing auto dealers and merchants

Expectations:
Provide exceptional service to dealerships/Merchants and members
Abide by all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of Consumer Lending.
Organizational and time management skills.
Telephone Communication skills.
Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment.
Strong numeric aptitude and analytical skills.
Strong orientation to detail and ability to maintain accuracy.

Experience:  
Consumer Lending Experience.
Credit analysis and loan processing experience preferred.
Experience of Indirect Finance, including working with Dealerships, desired.
Proficient with computing, including Microsoft Excel.
Experience working in a phone-based sales/service environment.

Education:      
High School Degree. 
College Degree in Business, Finance, Economics or similar (preferred)

Interpersonal Skills:     Work involves extensive personal contact with members of the following groups:  community leaders, business leaders, and internal managers.  External contacts are vital, not only for the success of the position, but the success of the company overall.  Skills in making recommendations, communicating decisions, building rapport, and resolving problems are all important to the job.
