| Industrial Engineer / DC3390 |
Position Description:
a. Provide engineering support for the establishment of accurate labor standards in the network as well as local distribution center. b. Support of all performance management initiatives. c. Lead preparation activities for LMS in your facility, including range setups, multi-select accuracy, good labor tracking practices, etc. d. Once standards are implemented, maintain complete documentation and perform all scheduled audits and necessary maintenance on DC standards to assure accuracy. e. Improve work methods (Reducing steps, travel, non-value added time, deploying best practices, work simplification, staff planning and balancing, etc.) f. Provide guidance and support for cost reduction projects. g. Optimizing material flow (Travel reduction, Process balancing, optimizing storage utilization and understanding and having input to put-away logic design, slotting) h. Provide Operations team with necessary support and guidance for improving utilization of our resources (Direct and Indirect Labor, equipment, etc.) i. Provide technical support for material handling system improvement (configuration, improved capacity, efficiency) j. Assist team by identifying and helping to removing barriers to higher performance k. Perform other related duties as assigned by Director.
Qualifications:
• BSIE or equivalent engineering degree. • Labor standards system and standard development experience. • Capital expenditure justification and working knowledge of engineering economics. • History of successful project management experience. • Minimum 3 years in a distribution environment. • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. • Experience in MS Excel, Word, Access, Power Point and Project. • Experience with EXE or Infor WMS/LMS or similar WMS/LMS system. • Cognos experience a plus. • ISO 9001 / 2000 experience or Kaisan a plus.
Physical Demands and Work Environment: • Physical demands: Sitting in front of a terminal / standing for extended periods • Work environment: Office / distribution center floor • Up to 66% travel may be involved.
