Position locations: Chicago, IL/ Cincinnati, OH/ Detroit, MI and Dallas, TX

 

Base salary: $110K – 120K plus bonus

 

Education / Experience

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or Supply Chain
  • 2-5 years experience in Distribution or Logistics(3PL / third party logistics) organization as an industrial engineering 
  • Must have experience in facility design using AutoCad and have start up experience.
  • Gantt charts and Project Plan Development knowledge and experience
  • Automated conveyor design experience.
  • Pick/pack and case picking operations knowledge
  • Superior data analysis and information management ability
  • Budgeting experience and Six sigma/5S  a plus
  • Quality Assurance knowledge
  • Strong experience in flow charting and process development
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Access and  Microsoft Project or other similar database applications
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel 75%

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

·         Responsible for designing warehouse solutions in proposals to existing or potential customers, modeling those solutions for operational needs and financial costs, and creating facility designs to support those solutions.

·         Responsible for storage system design, installation, and other start up-related activities for successful proposals and will also complete continuous improvement projects at existing operations in order to reduce costs.

·         Analyze initial sales information to determine data needs for cost modeling. Create a proposed operations solution, and subsequent modeling of the proposed solution for costing. Determine rates for storage, handling, and special activities including facility costs, equipment requirements and staffing needs.

·         Create AutoCAD facility designs; project Gantt charts, project calendars, process flow charts and preparation of the resulting data for use in sales packages or presentations as part of the customer response.

·         Ensure operations solutions are prepared for implementation, including, but not limited to, requesting quotes from vendors for all storage systems, miscellaneous material handling equipment, and any needs not under the direction of other company departments or personnel.

·         Responsible for the installation of the quoted materials and for the establishment of the storage location system in the start-up facility.

·         Responsible for initiating and implementing labor standards and labor tracking systems for new and existing operations, specific to customer requirements.

·         Identify cost savings and other continuous improvement opportunities at existing facilities as part of lean initiatives.
