Industrial Engineering Manager

About the Job

  • The Industrial Engineering manager provides management and oversight for the execution of the industrial engineering functional responsibilities, implement assembly practices necessary to achieve high rate production, analyzes and designs sequence of operations and work flow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts.  This position will have a significant role in developing the IE Operations for the west coast.  The successful candidate will have experience in the traditional IE processes and be able to adapt those to and implement the contemporary methods.

  • The successful candidate will have experience in the following;


  • establishing methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.

  • Assist in layouts that will prevent accidents and with  training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations.

  • Identify opportunities to improve cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.

  • Develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods utilizing lean manufacturing methods and processes.

  • Assists facilities engineers in the planning and design of factory layout taking into consideration assembly work sequence plans (bar charts), shop operating plan construction and implementation, capacity analysis including assembly rate tool analysis.

  • The Manager will understand the production master schedule construction and rate acceleration, critical path analysis, touch labor forecasting and analysis, improvement curve theory and application, standards development and application, Lean and affordability practices and tool sets; and assembly visibility metrics.

  •  Ability to merge legacy processes with future state processes.
 
  • U.S. citizenship required.
 
  • BS/BA degree required, Industrial Engineering or other technical discipline well grounded in Industrial Engineering/statistical analysis methods to drive plant optimization and improvement.

  •  4-6 years experience in a supervisory or management capacity.
