A leading plastics manufacturer is looking for a Plant Engineer for our St. Louis location. We offer relocation assistance. Our ideal candidate will be an experienced hands on Manager with a degree in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. We are seeking a strong mechanically and electrically oriented engineer with LEAN background and experience managing maintenance in a Total Productive Maintenance environment.
Under the general direction of the Plant Manager, this position is responsible for all maintenance programs including:
- The installation and repair of all machinery / equipment.
- Organizing and implementing preventive maintenance programs.
- Maintaining compliance with EPA record keeping and reporting.
- Controlling and improving the plant’s repair / maintenance spending.
- Maintaining an effective maintenance management system and repair parts inventory control system through MP2 / Maximo.
- Developing a repair and maintenance budget.
- Ensuring all applicable permits and regulatory compliance in current.
- Developing and implementing the annual capital project budget.
- Providing technical recommendations and implementations for continuous improvement in plant production processes.
The Plant Engineer will be accountable for the Maintenance Department performance. Direct reports include the Maintenance Supervisor, Process / Project Engineer and Parts Clerk. The Maintenance Department will consist of approximately 15 hourly associates in addition to the direct reports.
Position Requirements:
- Must have at least 5 years experience as a Industrial Maintenance Mgr/Plant Engineer
- An undergraduate degree in a technical or engineering discipline is strongly preferred. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering is ideal.
- Must be able to coordinate and set priorities for the Maintenance Department in achieving key maintenance goals and strategies.
- Must be able to provide leadership and to motivate maintenance personnel towards common goals.
- Must be able to monitor productivity and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Must be able to work in a team environment, especially coordinating maintenance activity in support of production operations.
- Must possess good technical knowledge of extrusion and converting machinery in the production of plastic bags.
- Must be able to communicate effectively to maintenance personnel.
- Experience with a maintenance management system such as MP2 / Maximo is preferred.
- Previous military experience highly desired.
