Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

Background Information:

We are assisting our client, a large steel producer, with finding a skilled Maintenance Mechanic for their Auburn, NY facility.

Local candidates are preferred, but full relocation assistance is available.

Position Description:

The Maintenance Mechanic will install, maintain, repair, and inspect mechanical equipment such as steam valves, traps, unit heaters, pumps, and pluming using hand and power tools. Additional responsibilities include:

• Install, service & repair electric motors, heaters, cooler and related equipment

• Fabricate, assemble, and test pumps, valves, heaters and compressors

• Move and replace machinery using forklifts, dollies, etc

• Perform building and/or masonry repairs as needed.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess an AAS Degree plus 5+ years of related experience in the maintenance and repair of electric motors, generators, pumps, pressure & water systems. Prior work experience from within an industrial steel mill strongly desired. Journeyman certification is a plus. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Hours:

Rotating shift of 1 week days, 1 week nights, working 2 days on, then 2 days off. Occasional on-call responsibilities are required as well.
