Maintenance Mechanic A
Responsible for accessing all areas of the plant and grounds in order to accomplish machinery/equipment installation and repairs. Must be capable of answering trouble calls throughout the facility, training new and less experienced mechanics, and actively pursuing and correcting problems with components and systems within the fields of technical qualifications.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Shift: To be determined
- Solid mechanical and electrical skills
- Thorough knowledge of pump theory, operation and repair
- Thorough knowledge of automated packaging machinery operation, troubleshooting and repair.
- Ability to weld (glass and arc) and solder
- Plumbing experience to include pipe threading and fitting (iron, copper, and PVC)
- Able to identify and order parts and materials from manufacturers instruction manuals and prints.
- Capable of communicating both oral and written instructions
- Thorough knowledge of pneumatic principles, application troubleshooting and repair.
- Complete the Standard Timing Model mechanical test with a score of 60% or better.
- Ability to read electrical schematics.
- Diagnose electric motor and control problems
- Work safely in both low and high voltage A.C. and D.C. circuits
- Working from manufacturers documentation; capable of troubleshooting solid state and processor based controls.
- Food manufacturing experience preferred
- Other duties as assigned.
