About the Job

A designer and provider of custom RF components and sub-assemblies for the Telecom, Medical Diagnostics, Avionics and Military industries is currently seeking to fill the position of Industrial/Process Engineer. The current product portfolio includes RF and Transient Noise Filters, Power Supplies, Oscillators, Amplifiers, Synthesizers, Transceivers and Up-Down Frequency Converters.


 


JOB DESCRIPTION


POSITION SUMMARY:


Defines the operations to produce RF assemblies and develops processes to ensure quality, cost and efficiency requirements are met. Troubleshoots problems with production and takes corrective action. Researches the purchase of equipment or upgrades required to existing equipment.


 


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:


1. Evaluate, implement and monitor processes and operating systems for the manufacture of RF electronic assemblies.


2. Create/edit/maintain necessary process documentation.


3. Support the conversion of small-scale engineering builds into commercially viable manufacturing volume operations.


4. Monitor and improve the efficiency, output and safety of manufacturing processes through observations and measurements as well as collecting, interpreting and reporting data gathered from manufacturing operations.


5. Analyze work force utilization, facility layout, and operational data, such as process flow charts, line balancing, labor efficiency, and scrap and rework costs, to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment.


6. Participate in and initiate Kaizen and 5S events to drive continuous improvement.


7. Evaluate, recommend, and implement any new equipment, fixtures, and tools to meet production requirements.


8. Support equipment calibration and preventive maintenance processes.


9. Assume responsibility for safety/environmental issues and ongoing performance of processes.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: Bachelors degree and extensive experience in electronic and mechanical assembly processing or B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering.


 


YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 4 years of production process related experience.


 


SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:


1. Self-motivated, hands-on individual with keen interest in quickly learning and applying new skills who can follow written/verbal instructions and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.


2. Knowledge of electronic testing and assembly processes as well as RF test equipment.


3. Background in SMT equipment and processes preferred


4. Experience with Lean Manufacturing Processes required.


5. Ability to react quickly to changing requirements and new processing developments.


6. Good written and verbal communication.
