Industrial Truck Mechanic

As a Industrial Truck Mechanic you will handle both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in all 3 primary areas: rear ends, transmissions and engines. We have a very large fleet of vehicles that serve the purpose of transporting the scrap metal that we will recycle. These vehicles include, but are not limited to, trailer trucks, logger and roll off trucks, box trucks, standard pick-up trucks, and forklifts. You will work on vehicles with tri-axels, quad axels and tandem axels. As a mechanic, you will become part of the United Steel Workers Union.
Position Details:
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Shift Work: 2nd
Salary: $18-20/hr plus Overtime and Holiday pay.

Requirements:
The ideal fit for this position is a former military heavy equipment mechanic. Qualified candidates will have four or more years experience in large truck maintenance. Hydraulic and welding experience is a plus. Candidates must be qualified to earn a Class B CDL. Your training and CDL licensing will be funded for you, but you must have a driving record and experience that meets the Wisconsin state requirements. A typical work hrs/week is 45 - 55. You will be working in covered areas and indoor bays, but the winters in Milwaukee are cold and the bays are not heated so you must be comfortable working in cold conditions.
