Job Summary:
Drives identification and relationship development of both established, as well as future clinical leaders who are or have the ability to become nationally well regarded for their clinical teaching, clinical research and publishing work. Responsible for the overall management of clinicians whose professional services activities we sponsor; works proactively with North American dental associations and other influential dental groups to identify the learning needs of their members and maximize our podium presence with those organizations. Work closely with staff clinicians, continuing education, sales, marketing and senior management to develop strategies to maximize the value of these relationships. Overall goal of this position is to help build our company and dental products’ clinical, scientific and education leadership position with dental professionals.
Job Responsibilities:
· Develops a comprehensive annual Key Opinion Leader (KOL) plan to support our business objectives; executes the plan.
· Drives identification and relationship development of both established, as well as future clinical leaders who are or have the ability to become nationally well regarded for their clinical teaching, clinical research and publishing work.
· Responsible for the overall non-sales management of clinicians whose professional services activities we sponsor.
· Works closely with staff clinicians, Continuing Education, Sales Managers and Marketing Brand Managers to develop strategies to maximize the value of these relationships encompassing new product launches, receptions, tours, tradeshow sponsorships, etc.
· Proactively works with national trade and professional organizations to maximize podium presence and/or other sponsorship opportunities for our dental products.
· Identifies specific areas of expertise each KOL has (speaking, writing, research, etc.)
· Builds relationships and keeps in contact with top KOLs.
· Ensures that KOLs are trained on new products that can be incorporated into podium or other clinical learning lectures, and/or incorporated into published articles.
· Writes weekly reports detailing communications with KOLs and monthly reports to provide visibility to program results.
· Makes daily updates to the KOL database noting contacts made key points of discussions.
· Serves as the Dentsply liaison of North American KOLs to our international divisional partners as needed.
· Strategically manages the planning for divisionally sponsored opinion leader meetings.
· Heavy travel, including some international travel.
· Performs other duties as necessary.

Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field
· 5-7 years in medical or dental education management, or related experience preferred
