Information Systems Clinical Analyst

About the Job

 

Southern Coos Hospital located along the beautiful Southern Oregon coast has an opening for an Information Systems Clinical Analyst.  This is a full time 40-hour position, which is responsible for participating in the Information Systems Department and being a technical resource for implementing and supporting a Hospital Information System.  This will include assisting in the support of legacy applications, interfaces, and other ancillary/peripheral systems at the applications, operating systems, and related hardware level.    Some on-call support is a requirement for this position.    

 

Educational Requirements/Qualifications:

 

 This position requires a Bachelors degree or Associate degree and 2 years of industry related experience or 4 years industry related experience.

 

Healthcare, Management Information Systems, or IT/business related degrees are preferred.

 

2-4 years working experience in programming and/or analysis.

 

Prior system implementation experience required.

 

Receives incoming requests for user level support and provides resolutions in a timely manner.

 

Provides training and education for the users of the HIS and related systems.

 

Knowledge of report writing and project management tools a plus.

 

Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle a plus.

 

Responsible for coordination and performance of analysis, design, development, and QA testing,validation and implementation of clinical documentation software used by clinicians performing bedside patient care.

 

Works closely with physicians, nurses and ancillary staff to manage the changes in clinical workflow processes that will need to be made with the system implementation.

 

Facilitates meetings and bringing working groups to consensus.

 

Understands the use of business/clinical computer applications, which assist in the management and processing of clinical information and delivery of health care services.

 

Develops and carries out clinical data quality assessment routines.

 

Monitors data entry for all pertinent clinical data elements by appropriate clinical staff.

 

Maintain exceptional product knowledge and coordinate program to update all clinical users on existing functionality and new features.

Experience with McKesson and ITIL preferred but not required.
