Information Systems Manager

About the Job

Information Systems Manager will supervise two full-time IT Specialists and one part-time technician.  

The Systems Manager will keep the in-house mainframe computing system operating properly and communications devices up and running.  The Systems Manager installs computer systems, ensures that back up systems operate effectively, buys hardware and software, provides the technology infrastructures for the credit union, and directs the work of Systems Managers and other computer-related workers.


 


Specific Duties:


 


A.  The Systems Manager shall be primarily responsible for the following:


 


1.   Evaluating user needs and system functionality,


 


2.  Ensuring that IT facilities meet the needs of individuals and projects,


 


3.  Obtaining competitive prices from suppliers to ensure cost effectiveness,


 


4.  Scheduling upgrades and security backups of hardware and software systems,


 


5.  Researching and installing new systems,


 


6.  Ensuring the smooth running of all IT systems, including anti-virus software,


     print services and email provision,


 


7.  Ensuring that software licensing laws are adhered to,


 


8.  Providing secure access to the network for branches,


 


9.  Ensuring the security of data from internal and external attack,


 


10. Providing users with appropriate support and advice,


 


11. Managing crisis situations, which may involve complex technical hardware or software


      problems.
