Our client is a well-known national company and an innovator in the educational publishing industry. They are expanding the sales force for their state-of-the-art product line and have asked us to locate a new Sales Representative to market these custom technology solutions for the design of online course material and classes, software to create course work online, and technology training tools to professors, technology departments and director-level decision makers at colleges and universities.
Ideally based in the Austin area, this territory covers Texas and parts of several surrounding states and will require some overnight travel during the peak selling season. This is an established territory with an existing base of established customers with whom our client already has developed strong rapport.
The ideal candidate will have a 4-year degree and 2 or more years professional sales experience, with a documented track record of success, as evidenced by stack rankings, awards and commendations. Sales experience in educational publishing, software or educational technology is desirable but is not required. Familiarity with technology, good organizational skills and business sense, and the ability to build and maintain rapport with key decision makers in the academic community are important qualifications. A valid drivers license and good driving record are required.
The successful candidate can expect to earn $75-85K or more the first year, consisting of a starting salary of $55K plus bonus which adds an average of $20-30K per year, although your bonus could be higher based on personal performance.
