Information Technology Manager
S.J. Louis Construction, a large national underground utilities contractor, has an immediate opportunity for a “Hands On” IT Manager. This position will provide leadership and vision necessary to support company objectives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement processes designed to accommodate growth and ensure that company goals are achieved.
- Research and propose new technologies to provide continuous improvement to current systems.
- Improve efficiencies and reporting capabilities throughout the company using technical solutions. Provide input to all departments.
- Document and monitor IT procedures and processes.
- Manage the ongoing activities for all IT systems including hardware, software, data management, network management and security administration.
- Develop, document and maintain the company IT Disaster Recovery Plan including a formal back-up system to minimize risk to the company.
- Proactively assist other departments in their IT needs.
- Provide effective communication to all team members
- Oversee all telecommunications and office equipment operating requirements.
- Serve as the help desk direct contact for all Team Members.
Knowledge and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or technical related field.
- Minimum 3-4 years experience in the information technology field.
- Experience working with multiple locations and remote access environments
- Crystal Report Writing and knowledge of Viewpoint Software a plus
Characteristics Required:
- This is a “Hands On” position – a one person IT department.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships across all levels and departments
- Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects
- Self motivation and ability to work independently. Willingness to provide support and training to all team members during their work schedule.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with vendors and team members
- High degree of flexibility and quick response time to both internal and external customers
- Proven excellent problem solving skills, root cause identification and troubleshooting skills.
- Demonstrated ability to meet project deadlines with professionalism and the desired results.
