Channel Account Manager, Energy Optimization


What you will do

Under general supervision, responsible for the
sale of data-enabled energy optimization products in conjunction with internal
and external channel partners, working with local Account Managers to support
opportunities that may include other Johnson Controls products and services
delivered as a comprehensive solution. Serves as the energy optimization
product expert during the sales process and leads development of the customer
business case for the energy optimization offering, including estimating
implementation costs and customer benefits. Accountable to achieve quarterly
product sales goals by driving opportunities through the sales process to
cultivate, qualify and close new sales.


How you will do it

  1. Provides
    product technical expertise and estimating support to global field sales
    personnel and to customers.

  2. Develops
    budgetary pricing and business case with account team to qualify opportunities
    and help customer begin the budgeting process.

  3. Presents
    product demonstrations and product positioning training to internal and
    external channel partners and directly to customers.

  4. Works with
    local account teams to collect site information and performs site surveys to
    develop site assessments, implementation cost estimates, energy performance
    baselines and utility cost savings models.

  5. Develops
    direct relationships with facilities leaders, engineers, and operators as well
    as consulting engineers to build customer confidence in the proposed technical

  6. Supports
    project manager and engineering/operations team in planning project delivery
    schedules, staffing requirements, and risk logs for each opportunity.

  7. Develops
    statements of work, proposals and sales presentations

  8. Assists in
    the collection of customer feedback after implementation.

  9. Provides
    regular feedback to product managers to drive continuous improvement to the
    product offerings.

What we look for

  • Education: Mechanical
    Engineering Degree or equivalent professional training.

  • Experience:
    minimum of 7 years of experience in the design, cost estimating, engineering of
    building improvement projects to save energy. Demonstrated subject matter
    expertise in Energy Management, HVAC systems, building automation, process
    control, and/or utility metering. Experience with energy savings calculation
    methodologies and simulation tools is highly preferred.

  • Certified
    Energy Manager (CEM) certification preferred.

  • Excellent
    written and verbal communication skills. Strong customer presentation skills.

  • Computer
    Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point,

  • Ability to
    travel approximately 60%, including some international travel.
