The MEVION S250 Proton Therapy System is USFDA 510(k) cleared and complies with MDD/CE requirements.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties include but not limited to:
Carry out all implementation and testing of the PTS-250 accelerator module and related equipment at customer sites according to Mevion implementation procedures.
Perform equipment installation activities at customer sites including cabling, assembly, running safety checks and initial startup.
Perform calibration and testing activities for the MEVION S250 including equipment set-up, running the accelerator and all of its subsystems, (RF, superconducting magnet, vacuum, ion source, etc.), recording results and troubleshooting and repairing issues as identified.
Perform customer acceptance testing by demonstrating to customers the system conforms to the published specifications.
The job requires domestic and international travel, and stays are expected to be 2-4 weeks or more at a time without a return to the workers home base.
Responsible for maintaining and red-lining Installation and Service documentation during the installation and acceptance process.
Specifies and assists in acquisition of tools and equipment.
Maintains accurate installation records in accordance with company procedures.
Performs all work in a safe and effective manner.
Serves as company liaison with customer on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
An Associate’s degree in electronics is preferred but not required.
3-10 years of experience in electromechanical test and repair is essential.
Experience with accelerator systems (RF, high power electronics, high vacuum, superconducting magnets) is a strong plus.
Ability to work for extended periods with little to no supervision.
Proficient with the use of power and hand tools.
Proficient in the reading and understanding of technical prints and schematics.
Proficient in documentation of assembly processes.
Experience with the use of rigging equipmentincluding, forklifts, hoists, etc.
Multiple positions are available.
These are remote based work positions. Candidates need to be located in close proximity to a major airport. It's a plus if based out of Jacksonville, FL, Cleveland, OH, Washington, DC, St Louis, MO, or Boston, MA locations.
Must be able to work with little or no direct supervision.
Experience with medical device implementations, specifically cyclotrons or linear accelerators is considered a plus.
The employee will work with radiation producing equipment using high magnetic fields, high voltages, compressed and liquified gases and radioactive materials. Strict adherence to corporate safety procedures is mandatory.
