Director – Applications Engineering


 


               The Wright Line Applications Engineering Team is responsible for providing high quality solutions that converts our customers’ requirements and preferences into Wright Line Solutions. This is accomplish by providing highly trained and seasoned Engineering support as a critical team member to a named account along with the sales channel, utilizing the latest in engineering tools and a standardized process for engagement.


 


 


Overview


         We are currently seeking a Director of Applications Engineering who has a strong background in Data Center Infrastructure and Technical Environments.  The position requires proven leadership experience in the project management field, process development and experience working with technical selling.  You will lead a team of Applications Engineers and provide direction, structure, process and project management guidance.  This position reports to the VP of Product Development and Services.


 


The team shall produce all the documentation required of the opportunity and own the development of the documents as well as the presentation of the material to the sales rep and/or client. It is expected that this team shall produce, cad drawings, special request entries, Bid/ Spec replies, cover letters and other related documents in the pre-sales process. Additionally, this team shall be responsible for the post sale activity to ensure the factory based processes are delivering on time to project commitments. Those activities shall include Tech support, OMT, Engineering and manufacturing/shipping processes.


 


Requirements


 



  • BS - Technical degree preferred, MBA a plus.

  • 10+ years experience in the combination of project oversight in the delivery of global service; industry experience in IT and Industrial projects highly desirable.

  • Essential to the position:  global experience, excellent analytical skills, process and projects skills, ability to lead without authority, results oriented, excellent communication skills to include active listening, verbal, written and presentation.

  • This individual must demonstrate the ability to be highly effective in a cross cultural environment.

  • The team members managing the workflow shall have background with Project management and be PMP certified.

  • Required background and experience in a technical selling environment with similar product /solution types.

  • A strong understanding of Process and metrics a plus.
