RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The Instructional Designer will coordinate, maintain, review and develop online courses and support faculty in the teaching of distance education programs. Responsibilities include:

·         Create course shell or “super-course”

·         Work collaboratively with course project personnel and curriculum experts

·         Migrate, review and update current courses

·         Build instructor and student training programs

QUALIFICATIONS
A Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Instructional Design/Technology, or closely related field is required.  The successful candidate will have at least 4 years of related professional experience, including expertise in online course design, as well as experience with Learning Management Systems such as CourseCruiser and Blackboard.

The successful candidate will have a professional understanding of educational technology, how to use it effectively, and expert experience with development of distance education courses.  Must have strong graphics design skills as well as web design skills including knowledge of HTML and proficient with PC platforms.

In addition to the technical skills as noted above, the successful candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; good time management skills, and ability to work well with the college community.
