We are actively looking for an experienced Instructional Designer to join our dynamic team in our Tinley Park, IL office.


 


JOB SUMMARY:  The function of the Instructional Designer is to collaborate with management to assess training needs, make recommendations, develop training programs, and deliver training classes to SSC employees.  Courses include system-based training (IDX and Epic) as well as topic specific to job functions.


 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Create/update training courses to reflect upgrades within billing systems or changes to policies/procedures within departments.

  • Work with management to assess the needs of each area, assist in the definition of departmental policies and procedures and make training-related recommendations for job-specific training.

  • Manage/administer education through the use of a Learning Management System (LMS). Must be able to create strategic curriculums and devise overall training strategies through the LMS automation.

  • Responsible for needs analysis, making recommendations for delivery forum and development tool set, course design, feedback and post-training evaluation of training projects.

  • Determines the appropriate delivery medium to be used for assigned projects based on information attained during the needs analysis phase and can explain the rationale for the medium selection. (e.g. live classroom, live WBT, CBT, job aide or documentation.)

  • Develops and conducts evaluation plans for all educational channels and generates specifications for revisions based on feedback collected.

  • Develops performance measures which may consist of criterion-referenced achievement tests, questionnaires, interviews, simulation scenarios, or checklists for observation of performance.

  • Deliver system-based and job-function training courses to new and existing employees.

 


 


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Ability to utilize sound e-learning principles to design and develop both synchronous and asynchronous technology delivered courseware.

  • Demonstrate written/oral communication skills as well as ability to present training material.  Must have the ability to interpret learning styles of students and assess their understanding during a training course.  Will also need to evaluate existing training process or system and make recommendations for updates/improvements.

  • Familiarity with using an LMS and ability to assist in administering both internal and external education.

  • Must possess technical skills to develop educational content using a variety of e-learning development tools.

  • Individual must be able to work with little supervision and manage time effectively.

  • Individual must have willingness to travel when needed.

 


 


 


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:



  • College diploma or equivalent work experience

  • 2-4 years experience developing educational content

  • Highly skilled in MS Office, e-learning development, LMS Administration, and multimedia creation tools

  • Strong written and verbal communication skill essential, in addition to ability to present to classroom or management team

  • Strong project management ability
