We need a junior to mid-level Instructional Designer / Technical Writer with experience in the development and maintenance of instructor led training to help take us to the next level! This critical task requires strong writing skills, flexibility and dedication. Experience in curriculum development is strongly preferred. Active TS clearance is required. Position is full time and based on the customer site in Washington DC.
This Instructional Designer will work with a team of 4 Instructional Designers to provide training development services to the FBI’s Counterterrorism Division’s, Continuing Education and Professional Development Unit (CEPDU).
· Maintain, coordinate, and manage training to build the FBI counterterrorism training program from its current state to a world class, competency based training program.
· Assist with conducting training needs assessments; training strategy planning; competency mapping; development of lesson plans; course design plans; course outlines; courseware storyboards; web based training; instructor guides; and course reference materials.
· Work independently and as a team player, demonstrating flexibility and ability to produce quality materials in a demanding high-productivity environment
· Support multiple projects simultaneously making rapid progress on various initiatives
· Develop relationships with subject matter experts, gather and organize necessary information, and produce quality training materials
· Create training materials for both in-person delivery and online courses using a broad range of tools
· Requires active Top Secret clearance

Required: Skills | · Bachelor's degree required - preferred degree in Instructional Systems Design, Instructional Technology, Human Performance Management, Organizational Design, Education, or Technical Writing; or an equivalent combination of education and training experience. · 2 – 5 years training and development experience strongly preferred; willing to provide instructional design training to those with strong technical writing experience · Experience in the development of classroom based training materials is strongly preferred. · Knowledge of instructional design methodology · Excellent written and verbal communication skills · Extensive MS Office skills (Word and PowerPoint) · Requires and active TS clearance Desired: Skills | -Knowledge of counterterrorism programs is a plus -Law enforcement knowledge/training expertise is a plus | Desired: Subject | in Instructional Systems Design, Instructional Technology, Human Performance Management, Organizational Design, Education, or Technical Writing; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. |
