The University of Maine at Augusta is seeking an experienced Instructional Developer with a Master’s degree or equivalent experience to provide hands-on technical support to faculty teaching online and teaching using Blackboard’s Course Management System. Duties include: adapting new technologies to accomplish the learning goals of courses; mastering a variety of applications and teaching faculty how to make the best use of them. The position will be based out of Augusta with routine travel to University College of Bangor and University Centers throughout the State of Maine. The salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience and includes an excellent fringe-benefits package. Qualifications: Requirements: Master’s degree in instructional design, instructional technology, or a closely-related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience; one or more years experience working with e-learning applications or course management systems; educational computing literacy; knowledge of the various technologies used in distance education; good written, oral, and interpersonal skills; willingness to travel to throughout the state on a regular basis; commitment to the value and critical role of distance education and e-learning in higher education. Preferences: higher education experience with blackboard; experience designing courses for delivery in an asynchronous format; one or more years of experience working with faculty in a higher education setting; previous teaching experience.
