General Duties:
- Provide students with the skills necessary to succeed in the electrical technology field.
- Maintain a teaching assignment each module.
- Plan course instruction based upon approved syllabus/outline provided to ensure course content and learning objectives are met.
- Distribute a copy of the module calendar to all students at first class meeting.
- Design, administer and grade examinations.
- Actively maintain student retention by keeping accurate daily attendance records, calling absent students, recording absentee information in roster, and communicating any attendance concerns to the Program Chair or DOE.
- Be available to advise, tutor and provide other student assistance as needed.
Requirements:
- Licensed electrician with at least 7 years’ field experience with transformers, motors, motor controls, generators, switchgears, and/or other equipment required to power homes, businesses, and industries.
- Past experience in the field with electrical code, concept, professionalism, and hands on training pertaining to the electrical trade.
- Ability to apply diverse teaching methods to students of various ages and learning styles.
- Excellent customer service, organizational and motivational skills.
- Strong team orientation.
- Teaching experience a plus, but not required, will train.
