Insurance Customer Service Representative Bilingual (SPANISH/ENGLISH)

Primary Job Functions:

Agency Insurance Company, a car insurance company, has an immediate opening in our home office located in Linthicum, Maryland. This inside position is primarily responsible for servicing our agent partners and our customers via telephone.  The typical day includes servicing 50 – 80 incoming calls and covers topics both simple – “when is the next payment?” to more complicated – “why did the coverage change or premium change?”.  Answering these questions requires an in depth understanding of our rates and rules across the states in which we do business as well as how our operating systems and internet based quoting engines interact.  Other tasks may include reviewing policy documents and analyzing their sufficiency and contacting an agent if there are questions or if additional information is required from the customer.  This person is the primary person with whom our agents consistently interact – accuracy and professionalism represent the preeminent means we have of proving that choosing to insure a vehicle with Agency Insurance was the right choice.

Today, we receive an increasing number of calls from customers for whom Spanish is their primary language.  For that reason, our preference, at this time, pending overall qualifications, is to hire a person with Spanish speaking skills while having excellent English speaking skills as well.  Our hours of operation are 8:30am to 6pm, with shifts starting at 8:30, 9:00 and 9:30.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent industry experience preferred. Attention to detail and ability to multi-task. Excellent communication, organizational and customer service skills.  A high degree of motivation and team orientation is expected.  Applicants should have proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook and exhibit a high degree of flexibility and not exhibit resistance to change.  That is, are you happy and energized, even when there are multiple balls in the air?  Spanish, as noted above, is our preference at this time.
