Job Summary
Responsible for inside selling, servicing and maintaining insurance accounts as well as providing direct assistance to policyholders as it relates to policy inquiries, status and coverage, company processes and procedures and state regulations. Provide high quality, caring service by following established standards and procedures. Must maintain acceptable profitability and policy retention.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education: Associates Degree or Technical or specialized knowledge or equivalent, related experience.
Experience: 1 - 3 years.
Knowledge: Solid understanding of general and technical parts of the job. Working knowledge in field, able to work independently.
Decision Making: Makes decisions within position standards. Applies guidelines and procedures that require some interpretation in dealing with exceptions. Work requires judgment to select among multiple potential pre-defined courses of action.
Supervision Received: Works under general supervision. Typically does not receive instructions on routine work. Receives general instructions on new types of work or projects.
Leadership: Works as an individual contributor. May participate in training less experienced staff.
Problem Solving /Operations/Direct Work Involvement: Applies knowledge to help solve moderately complex problems requiring independent thinking with direction.
Client Contacts: Contacts other departments and or external organizations or parties frequently. Contacts involve obtaining or providing information on matters which may be sensitive and or complex to interpret.


Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Two (2) years epxerience in property casualty insurance and/or a service-related position is required. Must possess a property casualty agent's license and be able to meet continuing educational courses to ensure license renewal. Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interface with others is required as well as ability to respond professionally in adversarial situations. Proven analytical, excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential, ensuring efficient time management. Ability to apply basic mathematic skills, accurate data entry/computer skills of 40 wpm, ability to read, write and interpret a variety of instructions is necessary. Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from company underwriters or managers, agency managers, support staff, clients, customers and the general public.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


1.        Professionally quote, sell, service and make recommendations on ACIC insurance products.


2.        Maintain a strong knowledge and understanding of all insurance products offered by ACIC and the practices and procedures of underwriting, as well as all specific state laws and regulations and the understanding of practices, procedures and workflow of all ACIC functional departments.


3.        Place business in the appropriate tiers according to the risk involved in order to maintain an acceptable loss ratio.


4.        Generate sales of ACIC products and services by individually prospecting and developing sales leads in addition to developing leads provided by the company.


5.        Maintain contact with existing policyholders to promote account renewals.


6.        Gather information from available resources to accurately and professionally respond to inquiries from internal and external customers within specified time frame.


7.        Negotiate payment agreements on all policies including payment amounts, cancellations and reinstatements within established guidelines.


8.        Provide ongoing high quality, caring service through research, problem solving and resolution to customer problems.


9.        Demonstrate ability to meet and exceed predetermined sales goals.


10.     Assume other duties as requested by Supervisor and/or Manager.


Adheres to Company policies and procedures as outlined in the Human Resources Policy Guide.

Follows departmental and functional area standards, rules, guidelines, processes and policies as identified by management.
