Insurance Specialist

The position reports directly to the Supervisor of Insurance and will be solely responsible for the following.

 

  • Ensure that all mortgage loans, secured by real property, have current and adequate hazard and flood insurance coverage.
  • Review daily incoming insurance mail and update the servicing system accordingly.
  • Perform insurance research on escalated loan level issues/concerns received.
  • Batching of insurance premium invoices for weekly disbursements on escrow loans to ensure continued coverage.
  • Add force place coverage where renewal information is not received and deletions where information has been received.
  • Review cancellation notices, with proper follow-up with the borrower to ensure no lapse in coverage.
  • Review departmental control reporting to ensure compliance with internal and external guidelines.
  • Perform variety of basic insurance clerical duties by following instructions and procedures.

 

Key Result Areas:

 

  • Complete research items within 48 hours of receipt.
  • Process and release insurance premiums timely per applicable guidelines.
  • Review and remediate all control reporting data anomalies within managements prescribed timelines.
  • Reconcile and remit all applicable invoices related to insurance vendors within applicable timelines.

 

Qualifications:

 

This position requires the candidate to be very detailed orientated as well as have the ability to multi task in a fast paced environment. Excellent research, comprehension, interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills and a strong attention to detail are a must. A strong understanding of hazard/flood insurance and mortgage industry experience is a plus. The candidate also must be proficient in Microsoft Applications to include Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point. An Associated Degree or some college course work completed is required.
