Job Qualifications:

The ideal candidate is a recent college graduate with a 4-year Bachelors degree who is ready to start a serious career in insurance underwriting. The dynamic nature of our business requires a hard working, ambitious self-starter with excellent analytic and decision making ability. This candidate must be able to work well independently, but also be a successful team player.  The candidate needs excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as being proficient with computers. Additionally, the candidate should be willing to learn and grow with the firm, take insurance classes and pursue further certifications in the field. (Additional training will be provided by our staff).    

Job Description:

The Underwriting job is an entry level position in the insurance industry. The main responsibility of this candidate is to analyze and evaluate prospective clients to insure by utilizing a variety of underwriting tools including financial analysis, marketing material research, and claim and loss information. It is important that the applicant be capable of mastering the complexities of the job, continually being open to learning new information and ideas. The candidate must be able to recommend the appropriate action for each account based upon the information they obtain. The position requires dealing with multiple parties coming from different perspectives, including clients, insurance carrier personnel and insurance brokers.
