Integration & Test Engineer (QA Tester) Washington, DC 20005
SRA has an exciting opportunity for a QA Tester / Test Engineer to support the Department of Justice (DOJ) grants management system and several ancillary grant and financial systems which administer $8 billion annually. This large project team is broken down into several smaller teams so opportunity exists to grow your career into various areas. This Test Engineer will work with the team who performs unit and system integration testing prior to release to Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) contractor for Functional Quality Testing (FQT). Testers are matrixed from Leverage Teams to numerous projects, which include large-scale software development, systems integration, and operations & maintenance (O&M). Systems include web applications hosted in three-tier environment and Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) integration. Key Responsibilities include: Develop test cases, test execution scenarios, and conducting testing for subsets of complex systems and subsystems. Integrate new modules into existing systems. Write test cases/scripts (manual and automated), and develop automated test scripts for regression testing. Employ system analysis techniques to translate software-level use case requirements specification into test cases, both automated and manual, to ensure test coverage. Generate problem and change reports and ensure corrective actions are taken. Create/maintain Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM). Work with developers and the IV&V team to address fixes. Ensure traceability of requirements and integration of changes into system documentation. Provide thought leadership for ongoing testing process improvement and program maturity and ensure best practices are followed to maintain CMMI-3. Work independently with minimal guidance and hit the ground running; and also work as part of a team with IV&V Contractors, Requirements Analysts, and Government customers. Maintain a strong grasp of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and the principles, theories, and methodologies of system and integration testing. Project is moving to Rational Unified Process (RUP) in the very near future, so experience with RUP and Rational tools is highly desired. Experience with TestDirector, WinRunner, Serena Dimenstions, and CVS is also helpful. Requires US Citizenship and ability to pass a Criminal Background Investigation for agency specific security clearance Required Skills and Experience: We are open to hiring a junior or senior tester. Requires at minimum a Bachelors Degree and 3-5 years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 2+ years functional testing experience utilizing Quality Center or other automated testing tools. Experience writing test cases Excellent interpersonal skills to interact on a daily basis with two Team Leads, several Task Leads, and numerous Developers. Demonstrated professional maturity and the ability to work in a high-stress environment under aggressive deadlines.
