RESPONSIBILITIES
The Interaction Designer will work with Consumer Engagement, Product Management, Operations, and IT to translate strategy and requirements into high-level designs, architecture, wireframes and functional specifications. He or she will help build a better understanding of Web consumer behavior, will identify and contribute to Web optimization opportunities, and will advocate the importance of human factors on the Web.
Essential Functions Include:
- Conduct web consumer research to develop profiles, personas, user patterns, task analyses and mental models with a focus on user satisfaction and segmentation.
- Design wire frames, site maps, and user flow diagrams for new and existing features. Includes ability to meld product requirements and user data into simple, effective flows and screen designs.
- Review Web analytics and work with product owners and subject matter experts to assess findings, determine ROI and present recommendations for optimizing the consumer experience.
- Define reusable interaction models/patterns and research/recommend best practices for Web experience.
- Collaborate with copywriters, visual designers, product managers and developers to ensure sites meet business and consumer needs.
- Promote User-Centered Design concepts and help foster a culture of consumer-focused quality.
QUALIFICATIONS
4+ years as a Web Interaction Designer with an IA or UX background.
4 year college degree in human factors or computer-human interaction, or equivalent work experience.
Solid background in understanding of consumer behavior in relation to information design.
Proven ability to simplify complex processes and interfaces.
Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time and provide timely deliverables for each.
Experience with designing, conducting, and evaluating usability tests is a plus.
Medical industry experience a plus.
