Our client is seeking a Sr Bridge Engineer, P.E., S.E. The chosen candidate will offer over (10) ten years of structural bridge experience.


Successful candidate will have experience in consulting, project management and detailed engineering expertise on numerous bridge design projects. He/she will work alongside our experienced bridge design team and Project Managers.

 

Scope of Responsibilities:

Prepares proposals; leads projects from initial concept, through the planning process to implementation; prepares work plans, schedules, and budgets; leads project team in structural analysis, design, evaluation and preparation of calculations and drawings;
Effectively mentors other engineers to ensure the team's professional development;
Prepares standard documents, such as technical specifications, in accordance with applicable design codes; researches and reviews design options for both technical and financial impact;
Supervises, coordinates, and reviews the work of other structural engineers;
Works collaboratively with CAD technicians; liaises with other professionals, clients and third parties as needed; contributes to the successful completion of projects in area of responsibility; prepares engineering reports and other technical documents; and
Performs other duties as required.
 
Required Qualifications:

  • M.Sc. in Structural Engineering  
  • (10) ten plus years of related experience in Bridge Design and Project Management, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Washington State bridge design experience, Design Build bridge experience is preferred
  • Strong technical expertise in the design and construction of bridges
  • Licensed Professional Structural Engineer in Washington State
  • Leadership capabilities, must have past supervisory roles
  • Proven ability to produce reports of findings
  • Experience working with modern bridge design codes
    Experience with 3D structural modeling with analysis software such as SAP2000 and ADINA
  • Superior decision making ability, collaborative work and leadership style
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the proficient use of Office tools, Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Ability to effectively manage budget and schedule delivery
  • Effective planning and organizational skills, ability to work under pressure
  • Demonstrated ability to see a project through to completion
  • Ability to work with staff located remotely, ability and willingness to travel
