About Us US Employee Services (USES) is an organization responsible for payroll and benefits delivery to all domestic GE employees and retirees, and in some cases global populations. GE US Employee Services is part of GE's Corporate component which is headquartered in Fairfield, CT. USES is primarily located in Schenectady, NY and is a matrix organization with various functional units such as: finance/accounting, healthcare, operations, quality/training, products, and service delivery.
Role Summary/Purpose Interns become part of our established US Employee Services(USES) internship program. This defined program gives USES interns opportunities to learn about GE's business structure and key operating principles along with specialty disciplines such as; finance, healthcare delivery, and productivity management. Interns are hired in all areas of the organization depending on their skill sets and interests. Interns typically commit to a 1 year assignment, all internships are paid.
Essential Responsibilities Applicants should have an interest in learning about an operations-based organization and/or pay and benefit administration. All assignments will allow interns to develop core competencies needed to succeed in a business environment. Depending on the operational area to which you may be assigned, the following are general areas of responsibilities/functions that may be associated with a given internship: *Preparation of monthly account reconciliations *Weekly account reconciliation reporting *Preparation of monthly financial reporting *Update process documentation for all areas of Finance *Audit requests *Special projects as needed *Support/Lead quality projects
Qualifications/Requirements Matriculation in an accredited local college or university in the Albany/Schenectady/Troy area; must be actively pursuing Graduate or undergraduate level degree -(Jr. or Sr. status)Ability to fulfill a one year internship commitment; ability to commit to 20 hours per week during school; available to work full-time during summer months Must provide GPA, minimum accepted 3.0/4.0Must be willing to work in Schenectady, NYMust be willing to submit to a drug screen and successfully passMust be willing to submit to a background check Must have proper documentation to show eligibility to work in the US For U.S. Employment opportunities, GE hires U.S. citizens, permanent residents, asylees, refugees and temporary residents. Exceptions to these requirements will be determined based on shortage of qualified candidates witha particular skill. GE will require proof of work authorization prior to employment. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
