POSITION OVERVIEW The Corporate Communications intern will support the Corporate Communications team whose function is to: inform employees, influence their attitudes and behaviors, and encourage pride and enthusiasm in the company; manage Tyco’s reputation and brand by ensuring consistency in messaging and cultivating positive relationships with Tyco’s key constituencies; and direct Tyco’s corporate citizenship program including initiatives to support for communities where the company has a presence and programs that align with company priorities. The Corporate Communications intern will have the opportunity to work on projects involving employee communication, executive communication, financial communications, media relations and corporate citizenship.
We seek a candidate with specific interest in learning about and contributing to the professional practice of communications in a large, global company.
Location: Princeton, NJ Reporting to: Director, Corporate Communications
Roles & Responsibilities • Interface with VP, Director, Manager and Coordinator of Corporate Communications, as well as business unit and corporate function leaders (finance, legal, human resources, etc.) to support the development and execution of communications plans and initiatives aligned with the company’s strategic priorities. • Write, edit and disseminate employee communications using a variety of channels including online, face-to-face, video and print. • Support content management efforts associated with company Intranet and Internet sites. • Manage communications project(s) as assigned from planning to implementation to evaluation.

Requirements:
Qualifications Education/Experience • Undergraduate (Junior or Senior) or Graduate degree candidate in Communications or related discipline Skills • Excellent verbal communication, writing, grammar and proofreading skills • Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines • Effective teamwork and interpersonal skills • Detail-oriented and organized • Self-motivated and able to complete work independently • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of programs, knowledge of PhotoShop, Content Management systems and HTML a plus
