Looking for an internship where you can really learn something, make an impact and have fun at the same time?  Mindspark’s internship program is designed to provide college students the opportunity to explore careers in our industry by providing meaningful and practical business experience, while having fun in the process.

Position Summary

As a Software Engineering Intern, you will use your creativity, your programming and analytical skills to help design and develop popular products such as Webfetti, Zwinky, Iwon, MyWebSearch, Smiley Central, My Fun Cards and many others that aggregate to millions of page views per month.
 
Responsibilities

Projects will vary depending on the interests and skills of the candidate as well as the needs of the company to create a rewarding internship. The Intern will be required to:

  • Leverage cutting-edge technologies to support new and existing products and businesses.
  • Collaborate with other team members to plan, design and implement software modules in a timely manner. Actively participate and make meaningful contributions throughout all stages of the SDLC.
  • Implement software components by choosing technologies best suited to address the problem on hand.
  • In collaboration with the team, develop tools and processes that help streamline or automate aspects of our existing applications.
  • Assist with development of scripts & tools to automate testing for our existing web sites.

Requirements

To be eligible for a Mindspark internship, you must be registered as a student in good standing at an accredited college or university in the NY or tri-state area. The registration must apply to the full duration of the internship.

  • Candidate must have completed at least two years at an accredited college with a focus in Computer Science.  (Desired major - MS or BS in CS)                                                                               
  • Must have strong programming skills, the ability to take on and complete complex software development projects, and exceptional analytical, organizational and communication skills.
  • Should be a team player and have the ability to work effectively with others.
  • Experience in Java/J2EE is required.
  • Knowledge of Oracle/MySQL, Spring, Flex, Scripting is preferred though not mandatory.
  • Should have clear understanding of SubVersion, Maven, Continuous Integration.
  • Student should be in their junior or senior year.
