International Accountant

Privately held not-for-profit organization is searching for an International Accountant. This prestigious company, located in Gaithersburg, manages research grants and contracts. Organization is notably recognized for advancing medical science and improving quality of life. They value their customers and desire to attract and retain top-quality people.

Position will be interact extensively with international offices and help these offices report their numbers in US GAAP while maintaining the integrity of international accounting standards. There are times when you will need to travel overseas to the field offices and travel is slated for 30%.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, document and record transactions of overseas operations

  • Assist international offices with GAAP standards

  • Preparation and review of general ledger entries

  • Implement, monitor and oversee international accounting rules and regulations

  • Preparation of quarterly and year-end financial statements and closings

  • Review operating procedures and make recommendations for enhanced efficiency

  • Ad hoc projects as needed

Requirements:

  • BS in Accounting or Finance

  • 4-5 years experience, at least 2 years of Non-Profit experience

  • CPA required

  • International accounting in a multi-location experience

  • Supervisory and foreign language a plus
