JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsible for development and effective implementation of Sourcing Strategy
by identifying global sourcing markets and leveraging supply markets to lower
overall costs,while enhancing quality, brand and customer product. Manage and
develop material and services sourcing alternatives, strategies and tactics for
Professional A/V and Consumer Electronic Accessories areas.
DUTIES
- Develop, implement and execute sourcing strategy plans to be administered globally.
- Select, negotiate and qualify international factories as supply sources, to include
lead times, capacity, delivery terms and logistics performance.
- Identify new product development opportunities and sourcing in support of Sales,
Marketing and Business strategies.
- Perform market analysis and identify market trends for professional audio/video
and consumer electronic accessories.
- Responsible for commodity/supply chain management of material and finished goods
worldwide, including Quality Control Issues (production and overall packaging).
- Monitor systemic problems with supply base and act as lead in all mediation/problem
resolution activities.
Develop and implement “best in class” global supply strategies
(supplier evaluation, selection and performance reporting, and cost savings metrics)
and relationships for assigned products that generally represent the more complex
and or critical in nature.
- Responsible for coordinating and improving Supply Chain performance on a global basis.
- An emphasis is placed on international procurement with substantial focus on International
marketplaces.
- Manages and develops the commercial relationship with suppliers to achieve the lowest cost of
ownership for procured products and services taking into account price, delivery, quality,
and overall value.
- Ensure timely access to strategically aligned technologies in support of the company’s
dynamic market needs.
- Identify alternate sourcing as needed.
- Other duties assigned as needed.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Education:
- Bachelor Degree in Business, Engineering, or other comparable field of study.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 to 8 years experience in a complex supply management environment which includes
complex electronic products.
- International sourcing experience with exposure to the Asian Region.
- Logistics and purchasing experience required.
- Prior experience traveling for extended periods in the International marketplace.
SKILLS & CERTIFICATION
Skills:
- Knowledge of international business management, import/export regulations including U.S.
customs/duty knowledge, ocean freight and duty, purchasing with an emphasis on negotiation,
production flow, inventory control, and documentation procedures.
- Knowledge of business correspondence techniques and English composition, knowledge of
word processing and spreadsheet computer applications.
- Ability to meet deadlines; to understand and follow written and verbal instructions;
ability to collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to prioritize, organize, solve problems, and complete tasks independently.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with management, customers,
suppliers, subordinates, and other associates.
- Access, Excel, and MS Office proficient
- Strong administrative skills
Typical Physical Demands:
- Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
- Prolonged sitting may occur on long-haul flights and at other times.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
- Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
