ETS is looking for a Internist (physician) to work at Offutt AFB Medical Center.

Candidates must posses license to practice Internal Medicine in any U.S. States. 

Citizenship is not a must.

Prefer board certified in Internal Medicine or must be board eligible.

Have been employeed in the practice of Internal Medicine or in training for 24 to 36 months.

SPECIFIC TASKS.

1. perform essentially the same duties as those required of any Medical Corps Officer or government Civil Service physician of similar experience and in similar duty assignments.
   
2. Facilitate patient access to medical care by recommending appropriate referrals to other health care providers in accordance with MTF policies and regulations.
   
3. provide outpatient services for patients as scheduled by the Government.
   
4. shall include but not limited to routine general internal medicine care to include care for acute and chronic patient conditions.
   
5. will become the primary care manager for a panel of patients.
   
6. managing patient care to include approving/disapproving subspecialty referrals, answering patient telephone consultations with the assistance of clinic staff, refilling prescriptions, providing primary and secondary preventative maintenance care.
   
7. duties/patient care assignments will be made by the internal medicine chief.
   
8. provide immediate evaluation and management of emergency problems as they occur.
   
9. Have sufficient experience to be able to adequately diagnose and treat diseases and injuries to include, but not limited to the following. 

·         Cardiovascular diseases – congestive heart failure, hyper-tension, arrhythmias, acute myocardial infarction

·         Respiratory diseases – asthma, bronchitis, pulmonary thromembolism, and pulmonary insufficiency and adult respiratory distress syndrome

·         Gastrointestinal diseases – peptic ulcer disease, gastritis, pancreatitis, cirrhosis and alcoholic liver

·         Endocrinology – diseases of the thyroid, diabetes mellitus

·         Rheumatology – sarcoidosis, degenerative joint disease

·         Renal – acute renal failure, urinary tract infection

·         Infectious diseases – infectious diarrheas, bacterial infections, hospital-acquired infections, infections of the compromised host, tuberculosis, and other microbacterial infections

·         Neurology – epilepsy, cerebrovascular disease.

10.  Have sufficient experience to be able to adequately perform the following medical procedures, to include, but not limited to the following:

·         Electrocardiogram (ECG) interpretation

·         Graded exercise treadmill testing

·         Intubation and airway management

·         CPR
