Internship for College Student in Desktop Services - Atlanta

In this position, you will install PCs, operating systems, and software applications. You will handle problem resolution on the desktop (PC and Laptop) technology and answer user questions and concerns with a customer service focus. Also, you will analyze and troubleshoot service requests to resolution in a timely manner, while independently support requests, PC/laptop setups, and assignments This is a great opportunity to gain on-the-job technical experience and training in the Desktop Services role within a large corporate environment.



This opportunity is a short-term, temporary situation. There is no guarantee that this position will lead to full time employment Initial contract agreements will be 5-6 months, with the possibility of a contract extension not to exceed a total of 12 months.




Responsible for the more routine maintenance and support of the standard hardware/software technology in use at the firm. This could range from configuring and moving a workstation to inputting data into local operational processes, like PC inventory, to escalating a technical issue to a more senior tech within the team;

Works independently on tasks and service requests, but gets active guidance from more senior technical resources within the location team;

Effectively supports our technology to ensure productivity of associates as they work in turn to serve our external customers;

PC/laptop setups;

Basic PC/laptop and peripheral repairs processes;

Refresh of loaner laptop process;

Inventory/parts processes;

Associate move/termination processes;

(Remedy) support ticket processes;

Basic printer troubleshooting;

Basic network connectivity troubleshooting;

Basic software installation processes; and

Follow unit procedures for attendance and accurate time reporting



Solid technical aptitude and experience as it relates to PC hardware and LAN technologies.

Experience with Windows XP is highly desirable.

Must be enrolled in or recently graduated from a CIS Program, PC/LAN Support Program, A+ Certification Program, or an equivalent program;

High school diploma or equivalent required
