Due to the expansion of our international operations we require an Interpreting Coordinator in our San Francisco office.

The Global Resources team is responsible for the sourcing of all linguistic resources and the recruitment of professional linguists to our database.

This role within our fast-paced resourcing department offers the ideal opportunity for an energetic professional to apply their skills and knowledge to thebigword’s environment of a growing business, which is expanding into new markets.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with senior members of the team, EVP and the Financial Controller on purchasing strategies
  
• Source requirements for large and upcoming projects on the Interpreting side of the business
  
• Source interpreters for urgent requests as required
  
• Call on small face-to-face interpreting companies to sign them up for mutual booking systems

Skills and experience required:

• Excellent IT skills and computer literacy essential. Familiar with all Microsoft applications particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel

• A keen eye for detail
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication
  
• A flexible approach; ability to multi-task
  
• Experience in negotiating with new and existing suppliers
  
• Language skills desirable but not essential
  
• 1-2 years work experience
  
• Industry experience preferred, but not required 
  
• Experience of recruiting Interpreters would be an advantage
