The Intrusion Analyst will:
- Monitor network traffic to deter, identify, monitor and investigate computer and network intrusions
- Guide and assist junior personnel with complex intrusion analysis issues
- Research, develop, and maintain proficiency in tools, techniques, countermeasures, and trends in computer and network vulnerabilities, data hiding, and encryption
- Research and develop techniques, training and countermeasures for computer and network vulnerabilities, data hiding, and encryption
- Understand and maintain in-depth hands-on experience with computer network intrusion analysis techniques
Required:
- Experience in network and computer intrusion analysis and investigation, and network traffic analysis
- Expert knowledge of TCP/IP protocols
- System administration experience supporting UNIX and Windows-based workstations and servers
- Experience with various network and operating systems
- Experience analyzing network attacks
- Proficiency with IDS and SIM/SEM operation and analysis
- Strong documentation experience
- Highly organized, excellent analytical and communications skills experience
- Must be eligible for a high level government clearance
Desired:
- Bachelors` Degree in Computer Science or related field and 3 to 5 years related experience, or an equivalent amount of Information Security (computer and network) experience and training
- Knowledge of common exploits and obfuscation techniques
- Open source research for detection and remediation of new information security threats
- Long-term anomaly detection
- Able to obtain a DOE Q clearance
