Inventory Control Specialist


 


In this position will be responsible for all facets of inventory control for the raw materials and finished goods at Stonyfield Farm.  These duties include entering production information in order to relieve the proper amounts of raw materials from inventory, data entry of all raw materials transfers, cycle counting raw materials, inventory tracking, physical inventories, receiving incoming deliveries, generating reports, and special projects.  In addition to working within Stonyfield’s Supply Chain departments (Procurement, Scheduling, Shipping, Customer Service), this position will work with many other departments within Stonyfield (Production, Accounting, QC/R&D, Finance).


 


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


 


Regular Inventory Duties:


·         Maintain the perpetual inventory of finished goods and raw materials in ERP system.


·         Enter all adjustments for raw materials and finished goods in ERP system.


·         Conduct cycle counting of raw materials and finished goods.


·         Maintain and update all raw material and finished goods cycle counting spreadsheets.


·         Track and follow up on any products (raw materials and/or finished goods) on QC hold.


·         Communicate inventory concerns with Procurement, Scheduling & Shipping departments.


·         Run order variance analysis report and research discrepancies.


·         Work with Customer Service and Accounts Payable to research and enter Finished Goods Adjustment Memos.


·         Verify production totals.


·         Send out daily production e-mail to facilitate communication amongst departments.


·         Track fruit inventory.


·         Assist in monthly and year end physical inventory activities.


·         Provide recommendations and input on a continual basis regarding job duties.


·         Manage his/her own time.


·         Perform other duties as assigned.


 


Receiving Duties:


·         Receive incoming deliveries and supplies (checking for and noting any damages or discrepancies on delivery paperwork).


·         Route materials and supplies to proper departments as they are received (ex. UPS/FedEx), working with these departments to fully close the receipt process.


·         Process delivery receipt paperwork into ERP system, at time of receipt, to ensure proper system notification


·         Forward all receipt paperwork to Accounts Payable, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed


·         Work with Procurement department to update purchase order status in ERP system


·         Document internal deliveries in relation to departments, quantity and packing lists


·         Work with Accounts Payable to research and reconcile receiving discrepancies


·         Maintain the organization and cleanliness of incoming/outgoing receipt area


 


SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES


 


·         Up to date knowledge of systems necessary to perform duties and responsibilities


·         May be called upon to be involved in updates, changes, or new implementations of system tools


·      May act as a Themis team member when called upon to perform Themis support organization roles such as Business Process Lead, Key User, or End User Responsibilities (see defined roles)


 


ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES


 


·         Support environmental programs established within the organization to include recycle all office wastes according to program guidelines, initiate power conservation techniques by turning off lights and Computers when not in use.


·         Proactively look for ways to reduce negative impacts on the environment


 


SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES


 


·        Proactively work in a safe manner in the context of performing the functions of your position


·        Oversee the implementation and adherence to Company safety practices and programs and hold staff accountable for leading safety in the work place.


 


QUALIFICATIONS


 


·         Bachelor’s degree preferred.


·         3-5 years similar experience in an inventory control environment is desirable.


·         Must have ability to learn information regarding raw materials, item numbers, units of measure, material usage rates, as well as production schedules.


·         Proficiency in a Windows environment including MS Word, Excel and Access required.


·         Working knowledge of ERP system preferred.


·         Working knowledge of MRP systems preferred.


·         Ability to work independently as well as with peers, managers and outside vendors.


·         Must be thorough and detail oriented.


·         Must have ability to work with numbers.


·         Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines within specified time constraints.


·         Ability to adapt in a changing work environment.
