Inventory and Production Control Manager

Based in Bellwood, IL, this newly created position will be responsible for directing and overseeing all aspects of material planning and scheduling of all shop orders throughout the manufacturing process, while concentrating on managing, monitoring and maintaining minimal inventory levels.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Establish and implement innovative practices resulting in inventory reduction, increased inventory turns and the elimination of excess inventory


• Work closely with the Purchasing Manager to establish and implement supplier stocking  and consignment programs


• Oversees the planning and production scheduling for the wide variety of departments while conforming to master production schedules


• Oversees the allocation of shop orders to proper work centers giving consideration to delivery requirements, workload, capacity and efficient utilization of labor and equipment


• Oversees the releases of production orders to individual departments as required


• Monitors production schedule performance to ensure the demand forecast is on track


• Plans and ensures the adequate and timely supply of raw materials


• Communicates capacity plans, changes, and inventory issues with manufacturing, quality, purchasing, customer service and sales


• Creates and publishes weekly and monthly production schedules and provides daily updates for production activities as required

Requirements:

·        Bachelors degree in related field

·        7 years inventory management experience within a manufacturing environment

·        CPIM certification preferred

·        Experience with production and inventory control MRP II, ERP including knowledge of KAN BAN, JIT and Lean Manufacturing Systems

·        Working knowledge of Microsoft office software, must be proficient in Access

·        Expert organizational and communication skills
